Zusammenfassung
Dank ihrer hohen Spezifität in der Erkennung von allen möglichen molekularen Strukturen, vor allem auch von solchen, die sich nur geringfügig unterscheiden, haben Antikörper eine steigende Bedeutung in der Bioanalytik, aber auch als Therapeutika gewonnen. Da die Induktion und Synthese von Antikörpern in vivo ein sehr komplexer, in der Immunologie abgehandelter Vorgang ist, sollen hier einige für das Verständnis der Synthese, Struktur und Funktion von Antikörpern wichtige Aspekte erläutert werden. Diese Übersicht beschäftigt sich vor allem mit dem Einsatz von Antikörpern als analytisches Reagenz in einer großen Fülle von immunologischen Nachweisverfahren für unzählige Aufgaben, bis hin zu adaptierten und vollsynthetischen Immuntherapeutika.
