Zusammenfassung

Kinder- und Jugendliche unterscheiden sich in medizinischen, sozialen und psychologischen Gesichtspunkten erheblich von Erwachsenen. Schon vor mehr als 100 Jahren konstatierte der amerikanische Pädiater Dr. Abraham Jacobi: „Die Pädiatrie beschäftigt sich nicht mit Miniaturausgaben von Mann und Frau, mit reduzierten Dosen und mit ähnlicher Art von Krankheiten, sondern hat ihren eigenen Bereich und Horizont.“
