Zusammenfassung

Die erektile Dysfunktion (ED) ist definiert als die fortwährende Unfähigkeit, eine penile Erektion, die für einen befriedigenden Geschlechtsverkehr ausreicht, zu erreichen oder aufrecht zu erhalten und hat einen negativen Einfluss auf die Lebensqualität. Zudem ist die ED in vielen Fällen ein Indiz für weitere schwerwiegendere Erkrankungen, insbesondere des Herzkreislaufsystems. Erektionsstörungen können diverse Ursachen haben. Vaskuläre Ursachen stellen die häufigste Entität dar, jedoch sind die Ursachen oft multifaktoriell. Bei Unwirksamkeit der medikamentösen Behandlungsmöglichkeiten stehen endovaskuläre Therapieverfahren zur Verfügung.
