Abstract
Triathlon is a sporting activity that combines swimming, cycling, and running in one single event. The athletes can compete in different disciplines including single or team races and ranging from super sprint up to long distances. Triathletes tend to train the whole year round and the training content is adapted to the aimed distances. Injuries of the lower limb are mainly running related, but other overuse injuries occur as well. Besides the physical demands, different aspects like energy and fluid intake are essential for these endurance athletes, especially when the training and competition distances become longer.
