Zusammenfassung
Das polyneuropathische Syndrom ist auf eine Schädigung mehrerer oder aller peripherer Nerven zurückzuführen. Alkohol ist mit Abstand die häufigste toxische Ursache einer Polyneuropathie. Es handelt sich um eine axonale Degeneration mit distalem Beginn und langsamem Aufsteigen. Weitere – deutlich seltenere – toxische Ursachen sind Medikamente (Vincristin, Cisplatin, Taxol, Isoniazid, Amiodaron, Metronidazol, Nitrofurantoin, Linezolid, Bortezomid, Rit0uximab, Gold, Chloroquin, Dapson, Lithium, Tacrolimus) und gewerbliche bzw. Umweltgifte (Arsen, Blei, Quecksilber, Thallium, Lösungsmittel, DDT, Triorthokresylphosphat, Schwefelkohlenstoff, Acrylamid).
