Die psychiatrische Komorbidität bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Adipositas ist ein bislang zu wenig beachteter Bereich in der Kinder- und Jugendmedizin. Dieses Kapitel informiert über Stigmatisierung und deren Folgen sowie über die Assoziation zwischen Adipositas und psychischen Störungen inklusive Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitätsstörung, Depression, Suizid, Essstörungen, Intelligenzminderung, Adipositas als Suchtstörung.
