Zusammenfassung

Die Diagnose eines Morbus Crohn wurde früher in vielen Fällen mit einer deutlichen Zeitverzögerung gestellt. Dieser allgemein verbreitete Eindruck ist heute so nicht mehr zutreffend. Die Möglichkeit des Vorliegens einer chronisch-entzündlichen Darmerkrankung wird bei entsprechender Symptomatik zumeist schnell in die differenzialdiagnostischen Überlegungen einbezogen und kann dann in der Regel auch zügig durch die sonografische, endoskopische und radiologische Diagnostik bestätigt werden (Pimentel et al. 2000).
