Zusammenfassung

Was ist eine psychische Erkrankung? Mit dieser Frage muss sich jedes diagnostische und klassifikatorische System der Psychiatrie auseinandersetzen. In diesem Kapitel wird ein kurzer systematischer Überblick über Theorien mentaler Erkrankungen und Störungen gegeben sowie eine integrative Arbeitsdefinition vorgeschlagen. Weiterhin wird eine Übersicht über die Häufigkeit psychischer Erkrankungen in Europa gegeben und die aktuelle Versorgungssituation in Deutschland dargestellt.
