Zusammenfassung
Mit dem Internet der Dinge und Cloud Computing haben sich zwei Technologietrends in der IT-Industrie etabliert, die das Potenzial haben, sie ähnlich nachhaltig zu verändern wie der Einzug der Client-Server-Architektur oder des World Wide Web. Im Umfeld von Industrie 4.0 spielen sie als Schlüsseltechnologien eine entscheidende Rolle und werden häufig in Device Clouds, die die Technologieplattform für viele Industrie-4.0-Anwendungen bilden, zusammengeführt.
Dieser Beitrag gibt zunächst einen Überblick über beide Technologien und zeigt auf, welchen Mehrwert ihre Zusammenführung in Device Clouds bei der Entwicklung und dem Betrieb von Industrie-4.0-Anwendungen bringt. Anschließend wird die typische IT-Architektur einer Device Cloud beschrieben, bevor auf die Anforderungen von Anwendungen an eine solche Architektur eingegangen wird. Schließlich wird anhand konkreter Anwendungsbeispiele illustriert, wie Device Clouds Anwendung in der Praxis finden.
