Zur Bedeutung der Psychosomatischen und Psychotherapeutischen Medizin in den Gesundheitswissenschaften

Zusammenfassung

Psychosomatische Medizin ist in Deutschland eine Facharztdisziplin und als Querschnittsfach integraler Bestandteil vieler anderer klinischer Fächer. Durch die Akzentuierung der Erste-Person-Perspektive der Patienten ist Psychosomatische Medizin stets Beziehungsmedizin. Typische Krankheits- und Störungsbilder der Psychosomatischen Medizin sind affektive, Belastungs- und somatoforme Störungen, Essstörungen sowie psychische Störungen in Verbindung mit oder in Folge körperlicher Erkrankungen und Persönlichkeitsstörungen. Vielfach besteht ein ausreichendes Zeitfenster, um noch vor ersten Symptomen entgegenzuwirken, was die Bedeutung der Prävention verdeutlicht. Die Psychosomatische Medizin hält ambulante, (teil-)stationäre und rehabilitationsorientierte Behandlungskontexte vor. Insgesamt wird sich zur Adressierung der in einer alternden Gesellschaft virulenten psychosomatischen Fragestellungen die Vielfalt der Betätigungsfelder für Gesundheitswissenschaftler in diesem Fach weiter erhöhen.
