Zusammenfassung
Ziel eines kognitiven Trainings ist die langfristige Verbesserung persistierender kognitiver Defizite. Dabei finden Interventionen sowohl zur Wiederherstellung (Restitution) als auch zur Kompensation bestehender Defizite Anwendung. In der jüngeren Vergangenheit erwies sich eine Kombination aus massiertem Üben am Computer oder mittels Papier und Stift und einer Strategievermittlung (z. B. Verwendung eines Terminkalenders für eine bessere Planungsfähigkeit oder direktes Transfertraining) als besonders hilfreich für die Verbesserung der Kognition und Alltagsfunktionalität. In der neuropsychologischen Praxis haben sich sowohl Einzel- als auch Gruppentrainings bewährt. Noch unklar ist derzeit, ob ein individualisiertes Training (an das neuropsychologische Profil des Patienten angepasst) im Vergleich zu einem generalisierten Training wirksamer ist. Ergänzend zum klassischen kognitiven Training kann das sogenannte Metakognitive Training zur Veränderung kognitiver Verzerrungen beispielsweise im Rahmen schizophrener Erkrankungen herangezogen werden.
