Zusammenfassung
Vielfältige Licht-Materie-Landschaften können aus kleinen Bausteinen auf Oberflächen konstruiert werden. Sie dienen als prototypische Strukturen, um neuartige Konzepte in Elektronik, Sensorik, Katalyse und für höhere Energieeffizienz zu entwickeln. Die Übertragung von Energie bzw. Information durch Molekülaggregate erfordert anisotrope, kabel-artige Strukturbausteine. Lokalisierte Lichtquellen werden mittels Beleuchtung metallischer Nanostrukturen bereitgestellt. Zunächst werden Landschaftselemente aus nur zwei Modulen, metallischen Nanoteilchen und Farbstoffmolekülaggregaten, betrachtet. Die rudimentäre Funktion solcher Einheiten ist der Energietransfer aus dem Lichtfeld in das Nanoteilchen, vom Nanoteilchen in das Molekülaggregat und der weitere Transport der Anregung. Anregungen sollen möglichst lange Laufzeit und - strecken erreichen, sodass sie an anderen Orten für eine Verarbeitung zur Verfügung stehen bzw. ihre Energie genutzt oder gespeichert werden kann. Die Beziehung des räumlich-zeitlichen Verhaltens von Anregungen zur Morphologie ist hilfreich, um intermolekulare Kopplungen und Transportmechanismen zu verstehen.
