Zusammenfassung

Das Kolonkarzinom ist die häufigste maligne Tumorerkrankung des Gastrointestinaltrakts. Die Chirurgie ist eine der essentiellen Komponenten im Therapiekonzept des Kolonkarzinoms. Um eine flächendeckende Standardisierung des Vorgehens und eine Evidenz-basierte Therapie gemäß dem aktuellen Stand klinischer und experimenteller Forschung zu erzielen, formulieren große Fachgesellschaften in regelmäßigen Intervallen Leitlinien zum diagnostischen und therapeutischen Vorgehen. Hierzu zählen die deutsche S3-Leitlinie ebenso wie die Guidelines der ESMO und des US-amerikanischen NCCN. Die Empfehlungen dieser drei Leitlinien werden in diesem Kapitel in Auszügen vergleichend gegenübergestellt. Zu den wesentlichen chirurgischen Komponenten dieser Leitlinien zählen die laparoskopische Kolonresektion und die Kolonresektion nach den Prinzipien der totalen mesokolischen Exzision. Beide führen zu einer Verbesserung der Behandlung von Patienten mit einem Kolonkarzinom.
