Zusammenfassung

Angesichts der bedeutsamen Rolle, die den Kognitionen bei der Entstehung, der Aufrechterhaltung und der therapeutischen Veränderung psychischer Störungen zugemessen wird, ist die Kenntnis der wichtigsten Methoden zur diagnostischen Erfassung dieser Gedanken für die wissenschaftlich fundierte Anwendung der kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie grundlegend. Im vorliegenden Kapitel werden diagnostische Instrumente vorgestellt, mit denen die Gedanken entweder passiv aus Listen identifiziert (Bestätigungsmethoden, in der Regel Fragebögen) oder aktiv hervorgebracht werden (Produktionsmethoden). Ferner werden Strategien und Techniken dargestellt, wie problematische Gedanken in der Therapiepraxis exploriert werden können. Dabei wird auf die theoretischen und methodischen Hintergründe und die Auswertungsmöglichkeiten der Instrumente eingegangen. Einsatz- und Dokumentationsmöglichkeiten werden anhand kurzer Fallbeispiele aus der Therapie- und Forschungspraxis illustriert.
