Zusammenfassung

Das Kapitel »Spezifische Phobien« stellt zunächst die Phänomenologie der Störung, insbesondere die phobische Furchtreaktion, auf den unterschiedlichen Erlebensebenen ausführlich dar. Anschließend werden die veränderten Diagnosekriterien nach DSM-5 kritisch diskutiert und Empfehlungen für eine differenzierte Phobiediagnostik ausgesprochen. Nach einer Zusammenschau aktueller epidemiologischer Daten werden die unterschiedlichen Erwerbswege der Störung sowie intraindividuelle und externe Risikofaktoren beschrieben, welche die Störungsentwicklung begünstigen. Im zweiten Teil des Kapitels werden Bausteine der Behandlung vorgestellt und, exemplarisch am Fallbeispiel einer Spinnenphobiebehandlung, praktische Behandlungstipps gegeben. Das Kapitel schließt mit einer vergleichenden Wirksamkeitsbewertung unterschiedlicher Behandlungsstrategien und gibt einen Ausblick auf mögliche zukünftige Fragen und Perspektiven in der Phobieforschung und Therapie dieser Störung.
