Zusammenfassung
Die Binge-Eating-Störung (BES) hat sich als eigenständiges Störungsbild im Bereich der Fütter- und Essstörungen etabliert. Das Hauptmerkmal der BES sind wiederholte Essanfälle mit Kontrollverlust über die Nahrungsaufnahme ohne gefolgte kompensatorische Maßnahmen. Im folgenden Kapitel wird die Phänomenologie, Epidemiologie und Ätiologie der BES beschrieben und ein störungsspezifisches kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutisches Behandlungskonzept vorgestellt. Ätiologische Modelle der BES beschreiben das unkontrollierte Essen großer Nahrungsmengen u. a. als dysfunktionale Strategie zur Regulation negativer affektiver Zustände. Des Weiteren sind unregelmäßiges und/oder ausgeprägt restriktives Essverhalten außerhalb der Essanfälle sowie Konditionierungsprozesse bedeutsame Faktoren. Komorbid zur BES bestehen oft depressive und Angststörungen sowie Adipositas. Die empirische Überprüfung therapeutischer Interventionen zeigt, dass die störungsspezifische Therapie erfolgversprechend ist. Sowohl die kognitive Verhaltenstherapie (KVT) als auch die interpersonelle Psychotherapie (IPT) verfügen über sehr gute Wirksamkeitsbelege.
