Psychoonkologie – ganzheitliche Betreuung von uroonkologischen Patienten

Zusammenfassung

Wie bei keiner anderen lebensbedrohlichen Erkrankung kann die Diagnose Krebs über die reale körperliche Bedrohlichkeit hinaus allein durch den metaphorischen Überbau und die damit verbundenen persönlichen Unheilserwartungen psychotraumatisch wirken. Die Forderung nach einer ganzheitlichen Betreuung von Tumorpatienten, die biologische, psychische und soziale Aspekte einbezieht, wird deshalb nicht von ungefähr mit besonderem Nachdruck erhoben. Besondere Beachtung gerade in der Uroonkologie verdient die Sexualität, und die Kenntnis um die Anpassung des Patienten an die Krankheitsphasen als wichtiges Hilfsmittel zur Krankheitsbewältigung ist unabdingbar für den onkologisch tätigen Urologen.
