Zusammenfassung
Schmerz das individuelle, äußerst subjektive Erleben eines körperlichen Phänomens und ein komplizierter Prozess sensorischer Wahrnehmung, der sensorisch-diskriminative, autonom-somatosensorische, kognitiv-verhaltensbestimmende und emotional-affektive Komponenten beinhaltet. Schmerz ist nicht nur Begleitsymptom, sondern als eigenständiger krankmachender Faktor, der sowohl Morbidität als auch Letalität beeinflussen kann. Daher darf Schmerztherapie nicht dem Zufall oder dem Engagement Einzelner überlassen bleiben, sondern muss organisiert sein.
