In welchen Situationen kann der Einsatz von lungengängigen Kontrastmitteln bei einer transösophagealen Echokardiografie (TEE) hilfreich sein? Sie finden in diesem Kapitel die wesentlichen Informationen zur Anatomie des linken Herzohres, zur Einstellung des Ultraschallgerätes, zur Bildoptimierung und Interpretation von kontrastverstärkten TEE-Bildern, zu typischen und selteneren Formen von Thromben im linken Herzohr und linken Atrium, jeweils ohne Kontrastmittel und mit lungengängigem Kontrastmittel und zu den Möglichkeiten, einen spontanen Echokontrast mittels Kontrastmittel von Thromben zu unterscheiden.
