Zusammenfassung
Die Anwendung von niedrigen und hohen Temperaturen zu therapeutischen Zwecken gehört zu den Verfahren der physikalischen Medizin Sie stellt eines der ältesten medizinischen Verfahren dar und wird in den verschiedensten Medizinsystemen angewandt, so in der Antike, der konventionellen westlichen Medizin, den Naturheilverfahren und der Chinesischen Medizin. In der Dermatologie werden diese physikalischen Verfahren als lokale Therapie eingesetzt. Das Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Therapieverfahren, mit Anwendung von Kälte als Kryochirurgie, Wärmetherapie sowie Einsatz nichtionisierender elektromagnetischer Strahlung und deren dermatologischen Indikationen.
