Abstract

Benign symmetric lipomatosis, also known as Madelung’s disease or Launois–Bensaude adenolipomatosis, is a rare condition of middle age, typical of men between 40 and 50 years old. The author describes the disorder and its treatment with liposuction. Recent advances on minimally invasive approaches are suggesting the inclusion of intralesional intralipotherapy in the armamentarium for the palliative treatment of Madelung’s disease.
