Zusammenfassung

Defekte nach ablativer Tumorchirurgie, Traumata und Fehlbildungen verursachen teils dramatische ästhetische und funktionelle Defizite im Mund-, Kiefer-, Gesichtsbereich. Die Einführung mikrochirurgischer Techniken konnte das rekonstruktive Spektrum der Mund-, Kiefer-, Gesichtschirurgie seit den 1980er Jahren nachdrücklich erweitern. Suffiziente Hart- und Weichgewebsrekonstruktionen konnten den Patienten zur Wiedererlangung einer normalen Ästhetik, aber auch zur Rehabilitation der Kau-, Sprech- und Schluckfunktion verhelfen. Neben den Fähigkeiten des mikrochirurgischen Operierens und der Gewebeverpflanzung sind für den Mund-Kiefer-Gesichtschirurgen jedoch auch Kenntnisse in der Funktionsweise des stomatognathen Systems und der sachgerechten Integration von Zahnersatz Voraussetzung. In Folgendem werden die bedeutendsten mikrochirurgischen Verfahren in der Mund-Kiefer-Gesichtschirurgie – der freie Gewebetransfer und die Mikronervenchirurgie – dargestellt.
