Abstract

Domain dictionary plays an increasingly important role in information processing, natural language processing, etc. However, the process of establishing a domain dictionary is tedious, strenuous, and has a high degree of human intervention. This paper proposes a method of building and expending a computer terminology dictionary based on semantic dictionary WordNet. By analysis of the structure of WordNet and the relationships between the concept nodes in it, meanwhile collecting informations and integrating to a computer jargon set, build a tree structure primary domain dictionary by purning non-computer domain nodes and eliminating rings in WordNet. Then analyze of sematic of new terminology to insert it in an appropriate position in primary domain dictionary, thus enable automatic extension. Experiments and analysis show that this method can effectively build and automatically extend a computer professional domain dictionary.
