Zusammenfassung

Das Kapitel Operative Eingriffe an der Vagina umfasst zunächst die Korrektur vaginaler Fehlbildungen. Anschließend werden eingehend die urogynäkologischen Operationen behandelt, da aufgrund des demografischen Wandels Senkungsbeschwerden und Inkontinenz zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen. Das Lebenszeitrisiko einer Frau, sich aufgrund dieser beiden Symptomkomplexe einer Operation unterziehen zu müssen, wird mit 20 % angegeben. Die sekundäre Versorgung von Dammrissen und das primäre Karzinom der Vagina werden kurz erläutert in den folgenden Abschnitten. Abschließend wird auf urogenitale Fisteln, deren klinische Bedeutung und Management eingegangen. Die aktuelle Entwicklung führte letztlich zur Erwähnung von Lifestyle-Operationen der Vagina am Ende dieses Kapitels.
