Patientenzentrierte Kommunikation und partizipative Entscheidungsfindung in der Onkologie

Zusammenfassung

Eine aktive Beteiligung der Patienten bei der medizinischen Entscheidungsfindung ist für die Versorgung in der Onkologie handlungsleitend. Voraussetzung ist eine patientenzentrierte ärztliche Grundhaltung sowie Offenheit für die Patientenbedürfnisse. Dies erfordert ein ausgeprägtes Maß an Flexibilität, sich auf die jeweiligen Beteiligungsbedürfnisse von Patienten einzustellen und den eigenen Konsultationsstil entsprechend anzupassen. Der Einsatz evidenzbasierter Gesundheitsinformationen und medizinischer Entscheidungshilfen dient dieser Förderung der Patientenbeteiligung sowie Steigerung der Gesundheitskompetenz. Eine gut realisierte partizipative Entscheidungsfindung führt bei Patienten zu mehr Wissen, realistischeren Erwartungen über den Erkrankungsverlauf, höherer Zufriedenheit. Zudem resultierten eine Reduktion von Entscheidungskonflikten und eine stärker erlebte Beteiligung bei Behandlungsentscheidungen. Auch die Behandler profitieren von einer partizipativen Entscheidungsfindung, da die Arzt-Patient-Beziehung gestärkt wird und ihre Zufriedenheit mit dem Patientenkontakt wächst.
