Zusammenfassung
Lipide wie Triglyzeride oder Cholesterin müssen über das Blut und die extrazelluläre Flüssigkeit in alle Körpergewebe transportiert werden. Dem steht die schlechte Wasserlöslichkeit der Lipide entgegen. Außer den an Albumin gebundenen freien Fettsäuren werden Lipide im Blut als Lipoproteine transportiert. Störungen des Lipidstoffwechsels, die mit Hypercholesterinämie und Hypertriglyzeridämie einhergehen, sind wichtige Risikofaktoren für die Entwicklung atherosklerotischer Gefäßveränderungen. Das vorliegende Kapitel beschreibt die wichtigsten Aspekte des Lipoproteinstoffwechsels und seiner Störungen sowie die verfügbaren Pharmaka zur Behandlung von Hyperlipidämien. Abschließend wird das pharmakotherapeutische Vorgehen bei der Behandlung von Hypercholesterinämien erläutert.
