Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff „Meta-Analyse“ wurde im Jahr 1976 von Gene V. Glass eingeführt. Er verstand darunter die „Analyse von Analysen“ („analysis of analyses“) (Gene V. (1976), die neben Primär- und Sekundäranalysen einen dritten Forschungstyp darstellt. Im Gegensatz zu Primär- und Sekundäranalysen werden hier nicht Originaldaten erstmalig oder wiederholt ausgewertet.
