Zusammenfassung

Das Ziel der Pharmaforschung ist es, neue und bessere Behandlungsmethoden für Krankheiten zu finden und Patienten so ein besseres Leben zu ermöglichen. Zu einer dieser Aufgaben gehört beispielsweise die Entwicklung neuer Medikamente mit weniger Nebenwirkungen, aber vor allem die Erforschung gänzlich neuer Wirkstoffe für Krankheiten, für welche bislang keine Behandlung existiert. Viele der Wirkstoffe, vor allem oral einzunehmende Medikamente, sind kleine organische Moleküle, welche die Funktion eines Proteins beeinflussen, indem sie selektiv an dieses binden.
