Zusammenfassung

With regard to institutional racism, the critique of security institutions like the police, the military, and also the justice system has been an important field of inquiry for years and gained new attention most recently. Vanessa Eileen Thompson can be seen as one of the most outspoken intellectuals of the European Black Feminist Movement and unwraps in this interview the longstanding colonial ties of policing. She analyses the effects of fast and slow violence of policing. In this interview she maps the globally connected movements of resistance and alternative efforts to create a liveable and careful world where we do not need citizenship anymore.
