Zusammenfassung
Die Polizei stellt sehr hohe und vielfältige Anforderungen an ihren Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter. Zudem verbringen die Beschäftigten in aller Regel ihr gesamtes Berufsleben bei der Polizei. Beides zusammengenommen, verdeutlicht die herausgehobene Bedeutung der Personalauswahl in diesem Berufsfeld. Fehler, die hier unterlaufen, können später kaum noch ausgeglichen werden. Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt zehn grundlegende Prinzipien professioneller Personalauswahl und orientiert sich dabei an der sehr umfangreichen Forschung zur psychologischen Personaldiagnostik.
