Zusammenfassung
Im Rahmen dieser Tour d’Horizon durch das Feld der nuklearen Abrüstung, Rüstungskontrolle und Nichtverbreitung werden in diesem einleitenden Beitrag zur Ausgabe der Edition ZfAS mit dem Titel „Am Rande des Kollapses. Stand und Perspektiven nuklearer Abrüstung, Rüstungskontrolle und Nichtverbreitung“ wesentliche Entwicklungen, Herausforderungen und Probleme in den genannten Bereichen benannt und skizziert. Anschließend wird ein Überblick über den Gegenstand der einzelnen Beiträge und ihre Zielsetzungen geboten.
Abstract
This introductory chapter to the issue of Edition ZfAS titled „Am Rande des Kollapses. Stand und Perspektiven nuklearer Abrüstung, Rüstungskontrolle und Nichtverbreitung“ provides a tour d’horizon through the field of nuclear disarmament, arms control and nonproliferation and identifies and briefly describes major developments, challenges and problems in these areas. The closing section informs about the topics and objectives of the individual chapters in this issue.

In der Stellungnahme des Nordatlantikrats zur Verabschiedung des TPNW ist etwa nachzulesen, dass die Allianz „reaffirms its resolve to seek a safer world for all and to create the conditions for a world without nuclear weapons in full accordance with all provisions of the NPT, including Article VI, in a step-by-step and verifiable way that promotes international stability, and is based on the principle of undiminished security for all“ (NATO 2017).
