Geschichte, Konzept und Relevanz von Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention

Zusammenfassung

1986 trafen sich in Ottawa (Kanada) Personen aus Politik, Forschung und Praxis zur ersten Internationalen Konferenz zu Gesundheitsförderung und verabschiedeten die Ottawa-Charta. Dieses Dokument ist das Produkt eines längeren Entwicklungsprozesses und markiert gleichzeitig den Beginn einer neuen Ära in Public Health. Der historische Kontext – wie sich Gesundheitsförderung bis zur Verabschiedung der Charta als gesundheitspolitisches Konzept entwickelte, auf welchem Selbstverständnis, welchen Ansätzen und Prinzipien sie aufbaute – ist Inhalt des ersten Teils. Die Weiterentwicklung von Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention als Handlungsfeld wird im anschliessenden Teil anhand zweier ausgewählter Aspekte skizziert: der Bildung von Kapazitäten und der praktizierten Interventionsansätze. Aktuelle und künftige Herausforderungen bilden den Abschluss. Die folgenden Ausführungen legen den Schwerpunkt auf Gesundheitsförderung, da ihre Geschichte eng mit der Neuorientierung in Public Health verbunden ist und fokussiert auf die deutschsprachigen Länder (Grundlage für den ersten Teil sind folgende Publikationen: (Ruckstuhl 2011, 2016; Ruckstuhl und Ryter 2017; Ruckstuhl 2018).).
