Abstract
The social science approach to spatial Internet videos has so far only been rudimentary, although this form of production, transmission, and consumption of moving images and acoustic information is of great social relevance. Film, as well as video, has a considerable significance in the social construction of the world (in this case in relation to spaces, landscapes, places, etc.). The analysis of Internet videos can draw on an elaborate methodology of qualitative and quantitative media content analysis. In the Internet videos examined, three essential aspects could be identified: 1) The contents are dominated by the themes of travel, regional studies, the world of life, music, and sport (supplemented by possibly current events). 2) There is a tendency to propagate spatial stereotypes. 3) There is a tendency to spread spatial conspiracy theories.

Even beyond the findings of fire ecology research, simple observation could have led to the conclusion that the formation of thicker bark in old trees, for example, reduces the risk of damage caused by forest fires in the corresponding ecosystems.
