Zusammenfassung
Projektionen, die auf Basis nationaler Umfragedaten die Sitzverteilung im neuen Europäischen Parlament antizipieren, sind ein recht junges Phänomen. Vor der Europawahl 2019 stieg ihre Zahl und öffentliche Sichtbarkeit deutlich an. Die Sitzprojektionen haben das Potenzial, zu einer Politisierung und Demokratisierung der EU beizutragen. Sie sind jedoch auch mit methodischen Herausforderungen verbunden, die einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang erfordern.
