Forced Migration and Resilience

Part of the book series: Studien zur Resilienzforschung ((STRE))

Abstract

This paper presents the design and results of a qualitative study focusing on the experiences of accompanied minor refugees coming to Germany before 2015 from different countries. Combining the two childhood theories on children’s wellbeing and children’s vulnerability, the study shows the specific risks of insecurity in the children’s life and the importance of preconditions for stable relationships to support children’s resilience.
