Das Thema lohnt auch sechs Jahre später, genauer hinzuschauen. In der für ihn typischen Gelehrtensprache arbeitet sich Imhof an den als demokratieuntauglich identifizierten Social Media ab (ohne allerding den Begriff selbst zu problematisieren). Unter Verweis auf die Arbeiten der hinlänglich dafür gescholtenen frühen Apologeten des Internet (unter anderem Benkler 2006, Jenkins 2006) bildet eine behauptete «participatory culture», die uns das Internet und insbesondere die Social Media beschert hätten, seinen Ausgangspunkt (Imhof 2015: 17).
