Zusammenfassung

Die immer strenger werdenden Abgasgesetzgebungen bei wachsenden Anforderungen und ungebremst hohem Interesse der Kundenseite nach Fahrdynamik, Komfort und Effizienz zwingen die Automobilindustrie zu weitreichenden Maßnahmen in allen Bereichen der Motorenentwicklung. Die Auslegung von neuen Motorengenerationen erfordert hier eine besonders umfassende Betrachtung des Gesamtsystems Motor hinsichtlich Motormechanik, Akustik und Thermodynamik. Begriffe wie „Rightsizing“, „Downspeeding“ und „Elektrifizierung“ sind in technischer Hinsicht als auch als Marketingwerkzeuge von tragender Rolle.
