Entwicklungspsychologische Ansätze

Zusammenfassung

Entwicklungspsychologische Ansätze bieten wichtige Modelle, theoretische Konzepte und Befunde, die auch andere Disziplinen der Kindheits- und Jugendforschung bereichern können. Sie bieten einen vertieften Einblick in einzelne Bereiche der kognitiven, emotionalen und sozialen Entwicklung und damit in die sich entwickelnden Kompetenzen, Verhaltensweisen wie auch in das Erleben von Kindern und Jugendlichen, das seinerseits entwicklungsgradierten Veränderungen unterliegt. Entwicklungspsychologische Ansätze thematisieren dabei nicht nur Fragen universeller Entwicklungen, sondern auch differenzielle Entwicklungen, die von spezifischen Konstellationen kontextueller wie auch individueller Faktoren abhängig sind.

    Tagebucheintragungen, in welchen das Verhalten von Kindern systematisch festgehalten wurde, waren auch in den folgenden Jahrhunderten eine wichtige Methode des Erkenntnisgewinns. Zu nennen sind hier etwa die Arbeiten von William Stern (1967) und Jean Piaget (z. B. Piaget und Inhelder 1956).

    Das Genom besteht aus der Gesamtheit aller Gene, die als funktional bestimmte Abschnitte auf der DNS (Desoxyribonukleinsäure) im Zellkern definiert sind (Asendorpf und Kandler 2018).

    Im deutschsprachigen Raum sind als besonders bedeutsame Studien die Mannheimer Risikokinderstudie von Laucht und Kollegen (1996) sowie die Bielefelder Invulnerabilitätsstudie aus der Arbeitsgruppe von Friedrich Lösel (z. B. Lösel und Bender 1999) zu nennen.

    Anknüpfend an dieses Konzept sind beispielsweise auch neuere Forschungsbefunde interessant, die Entwicklungsauffälligkeiten in Abhängigkeit von Abweichungen vom normativen timing der sexuellen Entwicklung im Jugendalter finden. So zeigen Forschungsbefunde, dass Mädchen, die besonders früh in die Pubertät kommen, und Jungen, die besonders spät in die Pubertät kommen, im weiteren Entwicklungsverlauf Auffälligkeiten entwickeln, z. B. in Form von psychischen Problemen, Schwierigkeiten in der beruflichen Entwicklung und in der Interaktion mit Gleichaltrigen (z. B. Graber et al. 2004, 2010).
