Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend von einer Verortung der Kategorie der ethischen Tugend im Feld der Tugenden überhaupt wird deren Struktur und ontologischer Status zunächst anhand von sieben grundlegenden Merkmalen näher bestimmt, um dann aus normativer Perspektive das für sie konstitutive Zusammenspiel von kognitiver, motivationaler und affektiver Dimension zu charakterisieren. Abschließend wird im Licht von drei konkurrierenden philosophischen Modellen der Frage nachgegangen, was es überhaupt erlaubt, einen bestimmten Charakterzug als Tugend zu bestimmen.
