Populismus in Lateinamerika und Europa – Auf dem Weg zum globalen Populismus?

Zusammenfassung

Nach dem Brexit-Referendum, den Erfolgen von rechtspopulistischen Parteien besonders in Europa, der Wahl von Donald Trump zum Präsidenten der USA oder dem Einzug von Marine Le Pen in die zweite Runde der französischen Präsidentschaftswahl 2017, sitzt die Bevölkerung insbesondere der westlichen Welt gegenwärtig, wie ein Frosch in einem Topf mit langsam erhitztem Wasser und strebt der Garung entgegen. Eine Stufe dichter am gekocht sein, sind zum Teil uninspiriert agierende politische sowie gesellschaftliche Eliten, die für den Populismus, durch die ihm inhärente Dichotomie von „denen da oben und uns hier unten“, besonders im Fokus stehen.

Die Autoren danken Jan Rohgalf für die Zusammenarbeit aus der insbesondere der Exkurs zu den Makrotrends resultiert. Darüber hinaus gebührt den Herausgebern Anerkennung für eine unkomplizierte produktive Zusammenarbeit und bereichernde Kommentare zu diesem Beitrag.
