Europa als Projektionsfläche, Handlungsraum und Konfliktfeld. Die extreme Rechte als europäische Akteurin?

Zusammenfassung

Der vielfach gegenüber extrem rechten und rechtspopulistischen Parteien und Bewegungen geäußerte Vorwurf, sie seien ‚europafeindlich‘ trifft vielfach nicht zu. Diese Akteur*innen haben vielmehr eigene narrative Entwürfe von ‚Europa‘, aus denen sich ihre europapolitische Rationalität speist. In der Negation wird ‚Europa‘ territorial dabei regelmäßig über den Ausschluss der Türkei und Israels bestimmt; mit Blick auf kulturelle Prägung und Symbolik konkurrieren christlich-abendländische mit heidnischen Konstruktionen. Große Gemeinsamkeiten finden sich in dem Ziel, ‚Europa‘ als Machtblock gegen die USA und den ‚Amerikanismus‘ zu konstituieren wie auch den europäischen Kontinent als Bund souveräner Staaten gegen außereuropäische Immigration abzuschirmen und die Dominanz ‚der Weißen‘ wieder herzustellen.
