Zusammenfassung
›Ethik‹ kann in einem allgemeinen Sinne als die normative Theorie moralischer Gründe verstanden werden. Sie untersucht des Näheren Bedingungen der Möglichkeit ethischer Praxis und entwirft Konzeptionen des guten und rechtfertigungsfähigen Lebens für einzelne Personen wie für gemeinschaftliche oder gesellschaftliche Institutionen. Zu ihren Grundbegriffen zählen unter anderem Person, Moralität, Moral, Freiheit, Handlung, Pflicht, Gerechtigkeit und Verantwortung. Der Ausdruck ›Ethik‹ geht auf die Philosophie der griechischen Antike zurück.
