Zusammenfassung

In den letzten 150 Jahren hat sich das Krankheitsspektrum drastisch verändert. Die Lebenserwartung ist kontinuierlich gestiegen und insbesondere der Anteil von Menschen in sehr hohem Alter nimmt zu (WHO 2015d). Während Infektionskrankheiten an Bedeutung verloren haben, steigt die Krankheitslast durch chronische Erkrankungen.
