Bildzeichen politischer Ordnung in Frankreich, 1789-1880

Zusammenfassung

Fragt man, welche Eigenschaft en politische Symbole generell besitzen müssen, um eine politische Ordnung überzeugend zu legitimieren, zu repräsentieren und ihren Zusammenhalt zu stärken, so sind ausgehend von Jürgen Links Diskurstheorie der Kollektivsymbolik (Link 1984; Drews et al. 1985) und von der Symbolik der Bastille (Lüsebrink und Reichardt 1990; Reichardt 1996, 2004) vor allem die folgenden Faktoren zu nennen:

    Essentialität. Um wirkungsvoll zur Identität eines konkreten Gemeinwesens beizutragen, muss das Symbol dessen Selbstverständnis ‚auf den Begriff bringen‘ bzw. in einem wesentlichen, typischen Grundzug repräsentieren.
