Das Phänomen „Crowdfunding“ hat in den vergangenen Jahren einen beachtlichen Aufschwung genommen Zahlreiche Internetplattformen ermöglichen es, Projekte unterschiedlicher Art der Öffentlichkeit vorzustellen und GeldgeberInnen zu werben Dieser Beitrag differenziert unterschiedliche Formen der Finanzierung, die gemeinhin unter dem Begriff Crowdfunding subsumiert werden – von einer reinen internetbasierten Spendensammlung über Zuschüsse gegen symbolische Gegenleistungen bis hin zu eher darlehensartigen Formen sowie Beteiligungsmodellen Exemplarisch werden die Geschäftsmodelle einiger AnbieterInnen vorgestellt Nicht zuletzt soll dieser Beitrag Nonprofit-Organisationen ermuntern Crowdfunding als Finanzierungsinstrument zu nutzen und gibt praktische, erfahrungsbasierte Hinweise, was eine erfolgreiche Crowdfunding-Kampagne ausmacht.
