Deutsche Koordinatoren im neu gewählten Europäischen Parlament

Kurzzusammenfassung

Koordinatoren sind Schlüsselspieler in der Binnenorganisation des Europäischen Parlaments. Bei ihnen laufen die Fäden der Willensbildung innerhalb der transnationalen Fraktion und den ständigen Ausschüssen zusammen. Dieser Beitrag untersucht die Selektionslogik dieser zentralen, in der Forschung bislang wenig beachteten Akteure für das Kontingent deutscher Abgeordneter. Ausgehend von zwei konkurrierenden Theorien der legislativen Organisation werden Hypothesen abgeleitet, die anhand eigens erhobener Daten getestet werden. Empirisch finden sich starke Belege dafür, dass Vorerfahrung in dem jeweiligen Ausschuss den stärksten Einfl uss auf die Kandidatenauswahl hat. Ein berufsbedingter fachlicher Hintergrund scheint demgegenüber weniger ausschlaggebend für die Ernennung zum Koordinator zu sein.
