Zusammenfassung
In den vergangenen Jahren haben die Atomprogramme Nordkoreas und Irans immer wieder für Schlagzeilen gesorgt. Aber auch weitere Länder stehen in dem Verdacht, Kernwaffen erwerben zu wollen. Damit droht die im Jahr 1970 etablierte nukleare Ordnung in Form des Nuklearen Nichtverbreitungsvertrages (NVV), die sich seit geraumer Zeit in einer Dauerkrise befindet, vollends aus den Fugen zu geraten. Dem NVV zufolge ist es nur fünf Staaten, nämlich den USA, Russland, China, Frankreich und Großbritannien, erlaubt, Atomwaffen zu besitzen. Indien, Pakistan und Israel haben sich dem NVV von vornherein entzogen und Kernwaffen gebaut.
