Zusammenfassung

Endokrinologische Notfälle sind insgesamt selten. Gerade darin besteht jedoch die Gefahr, dass endokrine Störungen – die bei rechtzeitiger Diagnose und Therapie in aller Regel gut zu behandeln sind – zu selten in die differenzialdiagnostischen Erwägungen bei kritisch erkrankten Patienten einbezogen werden. Neben den als Komplikation vorbestehender endokrinologischer Erkrankungen auftretenden endokrinen Notfällen im eigentlichen Sinne sind im intensivmedizinischen Alltag insbesondere auch Abweichungen endokriner Parameter und Funktionen als Folge einer anderweitigen schweren Erkrankung von Bedeutung. Die endokrinologischen Besonderheiten in der Schwangerschaft sind ebenfalls thematisiert.
