Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel widmet sich den verschiedenen Prophylaxemaßnahmen in der Intensivmedizin.

Die Pneumonieprophylaxe ist aufgrund deutlich erhöhter Morbiditäts- und Letalitätsraten und Therapiekosten von großer Bedeutung. Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, einen Überblick über die empfohlenen allgemeinen und spezifischen Maßnahmen zu geben.

Die Notwendigkeit einer Thromboseprophylaxe bei allen intensivmedizinisch behandelten Patienten steht außer Frage und resultiert aus dem hohen Thromboserisiko durch dispositionelle und expositionelle Faktoren.

Die Stressulkusprophylaxe dient dem Schutz vor einer Schädigung der Magenschleimhaut.

Das Delir ist, insbesondere in der stillen bzw. hypoaktiven Form, ein oft unterschätztes (und nicht diagnostiziertes) Krankheitsbild auf Intensivstationen. Delirprophylaktische Maßnahmen umfassen zielgerichtetes Monitoring, die protokollgesteuerte Wahl von Substanzen für Sedierung, Analgesie und Delirium sowie nichtpharmakologische Ansätze.

Die Dekubitusprophylaxe wird als ein Qualitätsindikator der Pflege gewertet und stellt in der stationären Versorgung zunehmend älterer und multimorbider Patienten eine Herausforderung dar.
