Zusammenfassung

Schock ist definiert als generalisierte Gewebsminderperfusion, die nicht mehr zur Deckung des metabolischen O2-Bedarfs und zum CO2- bzw. zum Säureabtransport ausreicht. Der Blutdruck muss hierbei initial noch nicht vermindert sein, ist jedoch – zumindest bei Patienten jenseits der Neugeborenen- und Säuglingsperiode – häufig das erste klinisch leicht wahrnehmbare Zeichen des manifesten Schocks.
